Program & Contract Disclaimer 

Solarize–Electrify Irvine: Solar & Home Electrification Program 

OC Goes Solar (“OCGS”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to  affordable clean energy solutions throughout Orange County, California. Our mission is to  support the widespread adoption of residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy  storage systems (ESS), electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and home electrification  technologies, including heat pump HVAC systems, heat pump water heaters, and induction  cooking. 

In furtherance of this mission, OCGS administers the Solarize–Electrify Irvine program,  which provides community members with education, resources, and streamlined pathways to  adopt solar and home electrification technologies. 

Role of OC Goes Solar 

OCGS serves solely as an educational and program facilitation organization. We provide: 

• Community workshops and outreach 
• General information on clean energy technologies 
• Access to a network of pre-screened contractors

OCGS does not sell, install, or contract for any products or services, and does not act as an  agent, representative, or broker for any contractor or participant. 

Contractor Selection Process 

Each year, an independent, volunteer-based contractor review committee evaluates and selects participating contractors for the program. Evaluation criteria may include: 

1. Company profile, experience, and financial capacity
2. Qualifications of project teams and installation crews 
3. Local presence and workforce 
4. Employment practices, licensing, and insurance 
5. Scope of services, customer support, and warranty offerings 
6. Equipment quality and installation practices (including solar, battery storage, EV  charging, and heat pump systems) 
7. Pricing structure and overall value 

While OCGS and the selection committee apply best efforts and professional judgment in this  process, selection does not constitute endorsement, nor does it guarantee contractor  performance, pricing, or outcomes. 

Independent Contractor Relationships 

All participating contractors operate as independent entities. 

Any agreements for the design, permitting, installation, financing, warranties, or performance of: 

• Solar PV systems 
• Battery storage systems 
• EV charging equipment 
• Heat pump HVAC systems 
• Heat pump water heaters 
• Other electrification upgrades 

are solely between the homeowner (or property owner) and the contractor. 

Neither OCGS, the City of Irvine, nor the contractor selection committee is a party to any such  agreements and assumes no responsibility or liability for contractor work, performance,  pricing, timelines, or disputes. 

Program Fees 

Participating contractors may pay a modest program support fee to OC Goes Solar to help cover  outreach and administrative costs. This fee is paid solely by the contractor as a marketing  expense and is not charged to, nor intended to be passed on to, program participants. It does  not affect contractor pricing transparency or the independent relationship between contractors  and participants. 

No Endorsement or Guarantee

OCGS does not: 

• Guarantee cost savings, system performance, or energy production 
• Guarantee eligibility for rebates, incentives, or financing 
• Endorse or recommend one contractor over another 

Participants are strongly encouraged to: 

• Obtain multiple quotes where possible 
• Review all proposals and contracts carefully 
• Conduct independent due diligence before making decisions 

Participant Responsibility 

Homeowners and property owners are solely responsible for: 

• Evaluating proposals and selecting contractors 
• Reviewing and understanding contract terms 
• Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, permits, and HOA requirements 

Limitation of Liability 

OCGS and its partners, including the City of Irvine, shall not be liable for any damages, losses,  claims, or disputes arising from: 

• Contractor selection or performance 
• Installation or operation of equipment 
• Financing arrangements or incentive programs 
• Any agreements entered into by participants
