Community group-purchasing program for solar energy, battery storage, and Home EV chargers. They are designed to prioritize ease, affordability, and transparency—without compromising on quality.
Solarize Irvine is a community-based program that helps residents and businesses go solar and electrify their homes—offering affordable group pricing, pre-vetted contractors, and one-on-one support. Our streamlined process helps you save money and make your home more energy independent and resilient.

OC Goes Solar helps overcome the most common challenges to going solar: high upfront costs, complicated choices, and doing it all alone. We simplify the process so homeowners can feel confident making the switch.
Each year, we issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to local installers. A volunteer committee—made up of neighbors and solar experts—reviews proposals and selects contractors based on experience, customer service, financial stability, and more.
By organizing interested homeowners into one program, we help contractors save on marketing and outreach. In return, they offer reduced, easy-to-understand pricing and upgraded warranties to our participants.
We host community workshops where you’ll learn about equipment options, tax credits, warranties, and installation. You’ll leave with the information you need to decide if going solar is right for you.
After attending a workshop, you can request a free custom solar quote tailored to your home. It includes special Solarize pricing from the participating contractors—with no obligation to move forward.
You’ll contract directly with your installer, but you’re never on your own. We stay in touch for one year to ensure you’re supported throughout the process and beyond.

Every year, we assemble a Community Evaluation Panel consisting of local volunteers who review the proposals of solar companies applying to be in the program. They take into account a variety of factors, such as financial history, customer service, products being offered, business models, length of time in business, and more. The Community Evaluation panel selects which companies to invite to interview and then ultimately decides who will participate in the program. This process starts over again each year, and typically 2-3 companies are chosen.
