Finding a reliable and experienced contractor can be a challenge. By registering for the OC Goes Solar program, you have access to pre-screened solar contractors selected by the community and experts. This is the first year the OC Goes Solar is featuring three solar contractors. Contractors are pre-selected through a competitive bidding process.

Meet Aikyum Solar
Aikyum Solar specializes in residential solar rooftop solutions. For seven years, we have been a preferred solar vendor for OC Goes Solar’s Solarize Irvine program and have installed solar systems for about 550 happy customers.
We are an engineering-focused company, and all our work is done by experienced installers employed by Aikyum. With Time-of-Use (TOU) electric rates on the rise and lower export rates from utility companies, solar panels combined with batteries are a smart decision to keep electric bills minimal. Aikyum Solar prepares a custom solar solution for your home that maximizes energy production, utilizing various types of solar panels and batteries to ensure quality and efficiency. Most installs are typically completed in just 8-12 weeks! Aikyum Solar takes care of it all, from obtaining permits and HOA approval to designing and installing your system.

Extensive Selection Criteria
We prepare a Request for Proposals (RFP) every year to send to mostly local contractors. A committee of neighbors and subject matter-expert volunteers evaluate submitted proposals and pre-select contractors using a scoring guide that includes company profile, financial stability, hiring practices, years in business, customer reviews, and the capacity to serve our community.
The contractors provide a free consultation to prepare a proposal specific to your home, goals, and energy needs — including group purchasing discounts. When communities go solar together, they can leverage their purchasing power to save even more.
